Jon C. Thompson, MD, is double board-certified in orthopedic sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.  Dr. Thompson graduated with honors from prestigious Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.

A highly qualified practitioner of orthopedic sports medicine with patients of every age, Dr. Thompson specializes in orthopedic sports medicine including injuries to the shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow and wrist.   His special interests are joint instability, cartilage preservation and restoration, and pediatric injuries. . He has a passion for performing state-of-the-art cartilage restoration techniques which restores and preserves joints and allows patients to return to their normal activity levels and postpone joint replacements.

He is the author of “Netter’s Concise Orthopaedic Anatomy,” the definitive orthopedic anatomy guide for orthopedic students and clinicians.
