Our McKinney location provides the community with high quality, progressive orthopedic care that helps our patients seamlessly return to their daily lives at their desired activity level.

Our McKinney team offers a unique and innovative combination of the newest research and available technology. Our staff’s extensive experience and familiarity with adopting the latest in medicine is what makes us stand out amongst the crowd. We pride ourselves on taking the time to hear what our patients say, evaluate their condition, and then converse possible treatment options, risks, benefits, and alternative treatments together, on a one on one basis.

The patient-physician relationship at Alpha Ortho operates most efficiently as a team. After we discuss treatment, we work together with the patient to discuss course of action that is tailored to their specific needs. It is very important to us that we engage the patient with the full life cycle of care from evaluation to rehabilitation. By providing this environment and these relationships, we can extend an expert level of care that is not found anywhere else.

Our specialty team of physicians offer our patients an impressive array of backgrounds with an expertise in sports medicine, adult joint reconstruction, total joint replacement, Robotic Assisted joint replacement, and minimally invasive total hip replacements. Because we are fully trained to operate the latest technologies efficiently, such as our MAKOplasty hip or knee, we can provide patients with an opportunity to experience not only a reduction of recovery time after their procedure but a decreased level of discomfort associated with the procedure.

Notable Procedures

ACL Reconstruction

The ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) is a major ligament in the knee. Injury to the ACL often occurs to those who are active in sports or fitness. Tearing the ACL happens when too much force is placed on the knee, causing the ACL to tear under the stress. The goal of ACL reconstruction is to restore lost stability to the patient’s knee. This common and successful surgery will allow you to return to your previous activity level before the injury occurred. It is very important that treatment is sought from an ACL injury because, when left untreated, you risk losing function of the knee and additional damage to nearby areas.

Cartilage Restoration

Cartilage is the tissue that stretches over bones to form a joint. Not only does cartilage hold the joint in place, but it reduces bone-on-bone friction and makes movement easy and painless. Injury or normal wear and tear can cause cartilage to become damaged. When this happens, the patient often experiences pain and difficulty with mobility. Cartilage restoration is a procedure that will restore the cartilage to its healthy state without having to entirely replace the cartilage. Patients that receive this treatment usually return to weight-bearing activities after three months.

Shoulder Arthroscopy

Shoulder Arthroscopy allows the orthopedic surgeon to accurately diagnose and repair damage to the shoulder joint and is performed when nonsurgical treatment fails. The procedure is when the surgeon inserts an arthroscope (an endoscope that allows a surgeon to view the problem area on a video monitor) into the shoulder to guide repair. Most problems with the shoulder occur from a sports related injury or normal wear and tear. Procedures that Shoulder Arthroscopy is used for ligament repair, rotator cuff repair, shoulder dislocation, and bone spurs.

Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine and orthopedic surgery show great promise together. Whether a patient is experiencing chronic or acute pain, minimally invasive treatments for orthopedics has new technology every year. While many procedures are still incredibly successful, digging deeper into using regenerative medicine to treat patients who need pain relief is a game changer. Platelet rich plasma therapy, stem cell therapy, tissue engineering, and gene transfers are all expected to take orthopedic treatments to a new level.

Minimally Invasive Bilateral Hip Replacement

Bilateral hip replacement is when a patient receives a replacement on both hips. Benefits of replacing both hips at once include only one recovery process and most importantly, pain relief from both hips. The procedure involves replacing both hip joints with either a prosthesis or implant to improve mobility. To make our procedure minimally invasive, our surgeons make two short incisions in the hip rather than a single long incision. This will speed up recovery time and reduce pain.
